Introduction
CAET PREP (the "Portal") is an online preparation resource for candidates of the Combined Admission Entrance Test (CAET), the entrance examination of the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi – Abu Dhabi. In these Terms, "we", "us" and "our" refer to the team responsible for operating the Portal, and "you" refers to any person who visits the Portal or holds an account on it.
By creating an account or otherwise using the Portal, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, you should not use the Portal.
Registration and accounts
Certain parts of the Portal, including the study notes, previous year papers and mentor support, are available only to registered users. When registering, you agree that:
- the information you provide is accurate and complete, and you will keep it up to date;
- you will hold only one account, which is for your personal use and may not be shared, transferred or sold;
- you will keep your password confidential and inform us without delay if you believe your account has been accessed without your authority; and
- you are responsible for all activity that takes place under your account.
If you are under the age of legal majority in your country of residence, you should use the Portal with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian.
Acceptable use
The Portal is provided for personal, non-commercial preparation for the CAET. You agree not to:
- copy, download in bulk, reproduce, publish, sell or otherwise distribute any material from the Portal, except as permitted in section 4;
- use automated means, such as scripts or crawlers, to access or collect content from the Portal;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Portal, to other users' accounts, or to the systems on which the Portal runs, or interfere with its security or operation;
- submit content that is unlawful, offensive, defamatory or misleading, that infringes the rights of others, or that contains malicious software;
- impersonate any person, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation; or
- use the Portal in any way that is unlawful or that may harm the Portal, its users or its operators.
Study material and intellectual property
The study notes, worked solutions, explanations, design, software and other material on the Portal are owned by, or used under licence by, the Portal and its contributors, and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Previous year question papers remain the property of their respective owners and are made available for educational reference.
Subject to these Terms, you are granted a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to view and download the material for your own preparation. This licence does not permit you to share, republish, sell or otherwise make the material available to others, or to use it for any commercial purpose, including coaching or tuition.
Mentor support and live sessions
Registered users may submit academic questions, with optional attachments, through the mentor support system. By submitting a question you confirm that you have the right to share its content, and you allow us to use it to provide support to you and, in a form that does not identify you, to improve the study material.
Responses from mentors are educational guidance. They are reviewed before release, but they do not constitute official advice from any examining or admitting authority. Live doubt sessions are offered subject to the availability of mentors and may be rescheduled or cancelled. Participants are expected to conduct themselves courteously; we may remove anyone whose conduct disrupts a session or breaches these Terms.
Practice scores and progress
Scores shown when practising previous year papers are calculated from the published answer keys and marking schemes. They are provided for self-assessment only and are not a prediction of performance in the CAET. Practice progress is stored in your browser on the device you use and may be lost if the browser's data is cleared.
Information about the examination
Information on the Portal about the CAET, including its syllabus, pattern and marking scheme, is provided for guidance and is based on previous examinations. It may not reflect changes made for a later session. Official notices issued for the CAET take precedence over any information on the Portal.
Use of the Portal does not confer any advantage in, or guarantee of, admission to any programme or institution.
Availability and changes to the Portal
We aim to keep the Portal available and its content accurate, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may update, add to, suspend or withdraw any part of the Portal or its content at any time, including for maintenance, without prior notice.
Suspension and closure of accounts
We may suspend or close an account, with or without notice, where we reasonably believe that these Terms have been breached, that the account has been used in a way that may harm the Portal or its users, or where required by law. You may ask for your account to be closed at any time by contacting us as set out in section 15.
Disclaimer
The Portal and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. While reasonable care is taken in preparing the material, we make no warranty, express or implied, that it is complete, accurate or free from error, or that it is suitable for any particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, opportunity or expected results, arising from or in connection with the use of, or inability to use, the Portal or its content. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Privacy
The way in which personal information is collected, used and protected is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The date of the latest revision is shown at the top of this page. Where a change is significant, we will take reasonable steps to bring it to the attention of registered users. Continued use of the Portal after a revision takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and, where applicable, the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Abu Dhabi.
